A visit from Peter Vogel — the creator of the Fairlight CMI

Peter Vogel, who is in town visiting from Australia, stopped by the Miselu office to check out the C.24. Vogel revolutionized digital music creation when he co-founded Fairlight Instruments in the 1970s. The company became famous for a digital synthesizer called the Fairlight CMI. This high end music computer was built until the late 1990s and used by artists such as Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Duran Duran, New Order and Prince.

Many will have seen the Fairlight CMI when Herbie Hancock demonstrated it on Sesame Street in the early 1980s:
